Default I need the best Geomancer build?

I am looking to combine fire and earth, but I will take any advise on good builds for a geomancer. And I will take as much info as possible aka secondary profession, attributes, and skills.

I want to be able to have a good offense and be able to defend, so any prefences?

There is no "best". Tell us what you want to be able to do with your character. Just plain offense and personal defense?

E/Me
Energy Storage: 9 +1
Earth Magic: 9 +1 +1
Fire Magic: 9 +1
Inspiration: 9

As I play an Earth elementalist...well, let's say it's easy for me to neglect the other lines...This is only an idea.

Defensive Earth Staff of Enchanting (I just like it, choose your own)

Obsidian Flame
Fireball
Arcane Echo
Armor of Earth
Power Drain
A)Aftershock \ B)Immolate
A)Earthquake \ B)Ether Feast
I)Ether Prodigy \ II)Elemental Attunemet \ III)Glyph of Energy \ IV) Glyph of Renewal

The last one is really your choice...I would fit Prodigy in there, though, personally.

The time I played a ton of fire/earth was when my only good elite was Ether Renewal.

The key skills (and I'll list more than 8) were:

Ether Renewal
Aura of Restoration
Kinetic Armor
Armor of Earth
Fire Attunement
Flare
Immolate
other fire damage (like some AoE)
Arcane Echo

Some points:

1. The more total enchantments, the more impact you get from Ether Renewal.

2. Flare and Immolate each have short casting times. This is important to leverage Ether Renewal.

3. With five enchantments and three damage spells, I had trouble using up all my energy.

4. Arcane Echo can be used to echo either a damage spell or Ether Renewal itself. Echoing Flare is not something one would normally do, but it can make for a heckuva Ether Renewal burst. Echoing Ether Renewal itself makes for more frequent healing bursts.

5. There's so much excess energy in this build that it holds up pretty well against interrupters.

6. Enchantment strippers/conditioners are a problem, however.

7. A strict Earth build would probably be more efficient.

8. Having a spammable spell is good for keeping Kinetic Armor up.

9. Having a lot of total energy per minute (as opposed to using Glyphs) makes Aura of Restoration more powerful.

Also, look at the "invincimentalist" page on GuildWiki. It's not about a 55 HP build, but rather about permanent Mist Form/Obsidian Flesh using Serpent's Quickness.

I haven't tried that, but I did try a long-lasting Obsidian Flesh based on Arcane Echo, solo farming on Perdition Rock. Mangho Hydras and Phantoms weren't the problem, some painful Infernos notwithstanding. The problem was that after I killed some enemies, they turned into bone minions. And the bone minions (or somebody) got Death Novaed. Pure beatdown from the flesh golems seemed non-trivial as well.

Really frustrating is killing all your enemies, and then dying to poison because your only self-healing is Ether Feast and there's nobody left to use it on.

And before anybody says I should have just pulled the hydras -- I know. But it's tough to separate them out, and being slowed sure doesn't help. I've never been so annoyed at enemies running away from me ...

Well would it be better to just focus on earth magic only? Would that give me a better damage and armor?

And if so what would be a good earth build?

Bah you know... This is my build:

Profession: Elementalist/Anything

Earth Magic 12+3+1
Energy Storage 12+1
(Put the other points anywhere you want)

Skills:
1.Stone Daggers
2.Obsidian Flesh or Crystal Wave
3.Obsidian Flame
4.Aura of Restoration
5.Earth Attunement
6.Armor of Earth
7.Kinetic Armor
8.Ward against Melee

Equipment:
Armor:Any armor you want with Stone's Eye.
Weapon: Get yourself a Insightful (PvP) Earth Staff of Enchanting(You NEED this, this build runs within the Enchantements)

Summary:
Discovered this build myself(I know I know many persons already did this...Anyways...)
Well... Just 1 or 2 seconds before the ennemy is in your aggro bubble, execute the enchantements in this order: Aura of Restoration, Earth Attunement, Armor of Earth, Kinetic Armor and then, jump directly in and spam Stone Daggers. When you are ready you can pitch some Obsidian Flame there and there. If you had Obsidian Flesh with you, when you see people spiking you and spam spells on you, run Obsidian Flesh! Do not worry about maintaining your enchantements; the only one who you really need is Kinetic Armor. Because of Exhaustion caused by Obsidian Flame, you need to keep your Energy Cost at the minimum. If you feel like it, you can get Earth Attunement and/or Armor of Earth back. If people come close to you, do Crystal Wave if you have it. If the people were melee fighters, just do
Ward against Melee.

Notes & Concerns:

Equipment: The weapon,(Insightful Earth Staff of Enchanting) is essential. You need it because the extra Energy is a must. With the PvP Earth Staff, what is good is the 20% and the 20% for both execution speed and the recharge speed.

Skills and Strategy: Bah you know, I was getting Crystal Wave before for the extra damage but I found the Energy Cost too high for its effect. So I replaced it by Obsidian Flesh who can counter the casters. Anyways, even if it only lasts 21 seconds, most persons will change target meanwhile. And more is, the recharge time is only 30 seconds and the 1/5 chance to get the recharge even faster. Assuming you maintain it to annoy casters who try to kill you.(The physical damage who neither Armor Penetration or Ignore Armor aren't a big problem if you have a monk. If you don't, you still last long enough to kill someone)

Energy Management: The Energy Management is a BIG flaw in this build. You need to spam the spells to maintain Kinetic Armor but you have only 84 Energy. Assuming again you pitch Obsidian Flame often, you will run out of energy in about 5 mins or less. Of course most 4on4 fights will finish before the 5 mins.

Degeneration: Maybe the biggest flaw of this build. What you can do is...Hope! Hope to get a good monk who could save you from poison(If you have Obsidian Flesh, the spells won't touch you so...)

Mesmers: Blackout is another big flaw! It is a skill so Obsidian Flesh won't help. Nothing more to say.

Haha, hope this helps,
~Maedhros

Maedhros's build is a pretty standard and solid build, but I would go with another elite. AND I would include a secondary too...and you don't really need Kinetic Armor anyways.

E/W
Energy Storage: 10+1
Earth Magic: 11 +3 +1
Tactics (just cuz I like it ): 10

"Watch Yourself!"
Ward Against Foes
Healing Signet
Armor of Earth
Obsidian Flame
Ether Prodigy {E} (FOR TEH PAWNAGE!)
Earthquake
Aftershock

Yeah, just i prefer lol more defense, it feels reallyyyy good when warriors hit you only 3 and their super attacks do 35 on you. Anyways, I find your build super interesting because it has self-healing(healing signet) thought i find the earthquake-aftershock combo pretty powerful, it is long to execute. I suppose, "Watch Yourself!" is good, heard real good of it, thought don't really know why, i do not like to mix warrior and elementalist lol. Ah yeah Ether Prodigy is good with Healing Signet because you can counter the effect of the backfire after the end of the enchantement. Anyways, will try that later =P

It's quite hard to mix Elementalist with Warrior, but when done right, it can be pretty powerful. Just remember don't to put anything in the weapon attributes.
